The tsuba are of iron, with a tiger inlaid in brass. These swords are individually hand forged, and the steel is folded by hand. The process produces visible hada (patterns in the steel), and a very active hamon (temper line). The controlled temper produces a hardness of HRC60 at the edge and HRC40 in the back of the blade. These swords are made from high-tech Swedish Powdered Steel (ASSAB-K120C), and are functional as well as beautiful. Each weapon comes with a maintenance kit and cloth bag. The Saya is deeply lacquered in black, with inlaid brass bamboo leaves. The ray skin used on the handle (tsuka) is of the highest quality, and the tsuka-ito and sageo on all three pieces are woven from best quality Japanese cotton. The Fuchi, Kashira, Kojiri, Koiguchi and Kurigata are all made from blackened bronzed iron, selectively detailed in gold. The Tsuba of the Katana is made from blackened iron, with a tiger inlaid in brass. The Habaki is of one-piece brass construction.
