Last Legend Yashima Katana 4000 Folded 100% Custom BOHI Start Price USD 550.00 Current Price USD 550.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, August 17, 2008 End Time Sunday, August 24, 2008 Location Honolulu, HI See more about 'Last Legend Yashima Katana 4000 Folded 100% Custom BOHI' Description This is a Last Legend Yashima 4000 series, 8192 layer dual steel, folded forged and differentially clay tempered.   This has been customized with new tsuba, handle wrap, and the standard, original crappy LL rattan has been removed and a much (much) longer rattan has been put on to extend well below the kurigata.  Shitodome has been added about 12" below the entry of the scabbard to retain the blade in certain iai forms.   Black sharkskin same.  The blade has also been lightly polished to bring out a faint hamon (visible at an angle upon close inspection - not really seen in the photos, can't really capture it, I tried).   27.5" cutting edge and 11" handle.   This blade was used for my husband's test for san dan, Toyama-ryu iaido, Yamaguchi-ha.  No cutting has ever been done with this, only cutting of imaginary opponents.   Also, the custom work (polishing by Shadow of Leaves, fittings & rattan by Fred Lohman) is very good.  All fittings are tight no rattling, and the final seating of the blade into the scabbard is almost "air tight".  Extremely well made and perfectly fitted.    Custom work was over $500 I really don't know and he can't remember; sword retails for about $875 - 900.   My husband is selling his other swords in anticipation of getting a Bainite custom (whatever that means).   Shipping $20 to any US destination; International will be extra.  Buyer must certify that by purchasing, it is legal to purchase & own in his/her locale.  Buyer also accepts full responsibility for the sword and what happens after receipt.  No minors!   Payment via Paypal, checks, money orders.  Please be advised that checks or e-checks on Paypal will require 5 business days to process and clear on my end.   Please check out my other auctions, thanks!  ~*Di*~ Place a Bid!
