The original bullet knife series stopped in 1940 with the sale of Remington's pocket knife business to the Pal Blade Company.In 1982 Remington began its current series of modern "Bullet" knives starting with the R1123 Trapper Pattern. The knife up for auction is one of the first years issue, a 1982 R1123 pattern Trapper, it measures 4 3/8" long closed, it has a muskrat blade and a spey blade. The muskrat blade is tang stamped R1123 on one side and has the circle Remington logo stamped on the other side, it is etched out on the blade Models Four & Six 1982. The Muskrat blade has the same tang stamps and has the Remington trade mark etched on the blade.  Both blades have very strong snap. Handles are "Derlin" imitation picked bone, the handle with the shield has a crack at the lanyard hole, as do most of the 1982 knives, don't ask me why, they just do. This knife comes with the original hard case, paperwork and even the original cardboard sleeve, which has the original purchasers name on it, he was from Sauk City Wisconsin.
