BUGEI genuine WAVE Katana Semi-Custom Navy Blue Saya Start Price USD 850.00 Current Price USD 850.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, August 17, 2008 End Time Sunday, August 24, 2008 Location Honolulu, HI See more about 'BUGEI genuine WAVE Katana Semi-Custom Navy Blue Saya' Description This is an original Bugei from about 2001-2002.  It has the "older style" wave tsuba (solid round) and other fittings are original to it.   27" cutting edge, 10.5" handle.  Navy blue lacquered saya, small chip near the butt end, where the buffalo horn cap is.  Small split (not visible) in the mouth of the scabbard.  Sword still seats well, as the split is not transverse to its upper/lower axes, but is at the point of the joint.  Should be fixable with small drop of epoxy, or else wrapping the mouth of the scabbard with cord or rattan.   Waiting time for a new Wave katana is nearly impossible, and the prices have gone up.  Current retail for a Wave with this configuration is $1,755 with no bohi!!!   Not used for test cutting but in practicing iai.  Blade has no bohi, and has small gray spots (not rust) that mysteriously appeared for no good reason, even though my husband cleans with uchiko and finishes with a layer of mineral oil.  This strange graying effect can be seen in the closeup, 4th picture below.  He suggested it could be solved with fine grit polishing cloth by someone who knows how to polish.   Real blade, no minors.  Buyer accepts full responsibility once received; also by bidding buyer acknowledges that it is leagal to purchase and own such a bladed weapon in their respective locales.   Payment via Paypal.  Checks, money orders OK, please be advised that checks will add 5 business days to process and clear on my end.   Shipping terms as shown below; international will be extra.   Please check out my other auctions, thanks!  ~*Di*~ Place a Bid!
