Description
2 Japanese swords from very famous smiths. Forged during the war, but not ordinary guntos. One is Chounsai Emura and the other is 23rd generation Fujiwara Kanefusa. For detailed introduction of them, please have a look at these two articles: http://home.earthlink.net/~steinrl/emura.htm http://www.geocities.com/alchemyst/kanefusa.htm The Chounsai Emura is in a good condition, no chips, just some scuffing. with a nagasa of 23.86'' (60.6 cm). itame nagare, fine nie in both ji and ha. chu suguba hamon, obvious sunagashi (as you can see in the pics). With a view to its special long Mei, it must be hand forged by Emura in person using Tamahagane. And there is a replacement wooden saya. While the 23rd generation Fujiwara Kanefusa has some thin rusts on it. But it's easy to be removed by some basic polish. No chips, no scuffing or other damages. ( in my opinion, actually it's in a better condition). It has a nagasa of 26.3'' (66.7cm). fine nie in the ha, ko-mokume nagare, the hamon is the famous " Kanefusa midare ". I noticed there is a "Showa" stamp on the top of the nakago, so I think it's hand forged using modern steel rather other Tamehagane. These 2 swords were sold to a collector living in Beijing for $4350. Unfortunately, because of the coming Olympic Games, there is a very strict knife control policy in China. So the 2 blades were returned by the China Custom. Not sure how long this prohibition will last. Bundle sale is preferred (and I'll give you a free shipping for that) but you can still buy either of them. Please feel free to ask me any questions you concern.
