Loren Pickering of Crawford Nebraska made knives in the 1940's and 1950's and died in the 1960's. For the time period his work would have been top shelf and still better than alot you find today. For a collector of the early custom maker you find and harder to get knife, especially in a large bowie. The hand forged blade is wicked sharp. The knife is stamped on both sides of the blade and the butt. The sheath is hand carved with mountain lion and wilderness and is also stampe on the back. Fantastic set in excellent condition.  *BLADE: 3/16" thick, 8 1/2" long, very sharp *OVERALL LENGTH: 13 5/8" *HANDLE: stag coated with shilac (the knives that I have seen by Pickering were all stag covered in shilac) *FITTINGS: Brass guard, brass butt *CONDITION: Very-Fine/used, knife shows light use but no abuse, knife is solid and tight,   ~Grading Scale: poor, good, very-good, fine, very-fine, excellent, mint(I rarely grade anything as mint)~  ********************************************************************** We would like payment to be made via paypal within 7 days.
