Two Handed Templar Sword With Scabbard Hand forged by Darksword Armory Historically accurate, Hand Forged Combat Ready Swords and armors for Serious Collectors and Reenactment groups 14th C. Two Handed Sword1300 – 1350 ADMuseum of London,Original found in the River Thames in London. Overall Length: 48" Blade Length: 38.5" Weight: 4 lbs 5 oz     The sword is hand forged by Darksword Armory, with the highest materials. The blade is forged with 1060 High Carbon steel and Tempered to a Rockwell of 53. As all our blades, the sword is Fully functional and specifically made to support the stress of combat. Performance videos can be seen below.   The cross on the pommel seems to indicate that this 14th c. Sword is a Templar Knight’s weapon. The history of the Templars seems to indicate that the sword was thrown into the river when the Order of the Temple was dissolved by Edward II in 1314 . At the time, many Templars were executed or imprisoned, and in 1314 the Order's last grand master, Jacques de Molay, was burned at the stake. The embellishing of the pommel, with its decorative cross, was common among the Templars, giving clear indication as to the origins of the sword.     As with all our swords, this model also comes with a scabbard.   Click on images below to Enlarge        The following resistance test were performed by "The Sword Buyer's Guide", an independent Australian based company, whose sole purpose is to test combat ready swords from various sword makers in order to allow collectors, as yourself, make appropriate choices when purchasing their weapon.
